ABOUT US

The founder and principal broker, Michelle Saka El, continued to work as an associate broker from 2005 through 2010 with Century 21 offices and MAP Realty.  During the past four years R.E.A.L. Opportunities has contemplated the housing fallout of 2007 through 2009 and we have some new ideas on the way we will serve society and advise our customers and clients.  In the video, “Spent: Looking for Change”, on our site shows the growing number of the ‘unbanked’.  Unbanked refers to those of us who can’t get a bank account and the additional cost that is paid for being the ‘unbanked’.  A bank account is an essential part of qualifying for home ownership.  We learn in the video that there are new paradigms for banking, financing, and housing on the horizon.  At R.E.A.L. Opportunities, we want to be on the cutting edge of the solutions for our clients and customers in our changing economy because we care. And we want to be consistent with our aim, a society where affordable housing and real estate opportunity is available to all.

Our services focus on education simply because education is priceless.  Our reward doesn’t come at the end of the home buying or home selling process.  After all that ‘end’ often never comes. But our satisfaction comes with the expanded knowledge and empowerment we give our customers or clients to choose and to see more and new opportunities. We don’t have to push our clients to purchase or sell in order to get paid.  We can help our clients and customers make the best decisions based in their real time experience and R.E.A.L.’s bountiful knowledge and wisdom of housing and economics garnished in almost thirty years.

The founder of R.E.A.L., Michelle Saka El, started her community building in Virginia working with the Monticello Action Agency in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1987 as the areas housing advocate and coordinator.  Her first project was to lead a collaboration between the agency and University of Virginia to define homelessness and solutions for Virginia State legislators. These efforts resulted in the Virginia Housing Fund. The affordable interest loan for homeownership is the most popular program of the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA).  Michelle continued working with communities and neighborhood groups as well as for the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development and for the United States Department of Housing andUrban Development.  In 1998 Michelle got her real estate license and became a licensed broker in 2005.

Over the years we have many satisfied clients and no documented complaints with the board.  We have served hundreds of home buyers, and sellers.  As well as saved, homes from foreclosure.  Please read our “Questions and Answer” page for our process in serving you.
